Hi Cuties,
So far no joy in Mudville and no luck finding a replacement job.
For those of you who don't understand the reference you should check out "Casey at the Bat" by Ernest Lawrence Thayer. You can read it here. https://poets.org/poem/casey-bat
I loved how the residents of Mudville stand behind their players but, by god, they really counted on the mighty Casey to win the day.
So enough poetry.
As I mentioned no hot prospects on day 30 as I toil away creating training materials to educate my two replacements.
The love of my life gets hotter than a June bride sitting barebacked on a depot stove in winter when she hears about my labors but I tell her not to let it get to her.
Besides my employer has treated me well during the last 7 years, 1 month and 8 days of my employment.
By the way, this article was written during my off duty times.
I understand their reasons for phasing out my position since they are changing their way of doing business and with the new model I just don't fit.
I understand it but I must tell you that I sure as hell don't like it.
I'm worried about my future and the future of my fiancé and furry best friend.
What if I can't find something in my chosen field?
What if I have to take something I don't like, just to get by?
What if no one wants to hire me?
There are lots of reasons a prospective employer could pass me by.
My skillset doesn't match their needs.
My age doesn't match their needs.
My being trans doesn't match their needs.
By the way, I had a previous job that I applied for (pre-transition and part time) and the manager seemed concerned that I might not get along with their younger workforce.
Isn't that age discrimination?
Or what if they use a similar excuse about me being trans?
Of course there will be employers who never tell me why and then I'm left guessing.
Out there, still searching for a job.
Wish me luck, again.
If you would like to ask me a question you can either use the link below or you can write to me at ironicallymeeka@gmail.com.
Thanks for reading.
