Dealing with Loss

23 days and counting Cuties,

Obviously this one will not be lighthearted and campy.

If you have been on the planet for any length of time you have lost someone or something that filled a part of your life.

It could be a job that you have had for a long time or a loved one.  And when I say loved one I am including pets as well as people.

And I'm not only talking about the death of a loved on either.  We lose the people in our lives when they move, change jobs or just stop talking to us altogether.

The last one can linger especially if there is no clear cut, well explained reason why this person chose to cut you out of their life.

Then there are those that we know the loss is coming but there is nothing we can do about averting it.

It helps a little to brace yourself and at least you are not left with a massive shock when it happens without warning but it still leaves a gaping hole in the middle of you just the same.

I am told that there are five stages of grief (you can read about it here).

Concerning my job I'm either in depression or acceptance.

Once of the reasons I am writing about this is this year alone I have lost a friend (passed) and have two others in my life in the hospital with serious issues.

To top it all off I spent part of yesterday getting my fiancé's father to the emergency room.

One of the sayings I have heard throughout the years was that God will only give you something you can handle and that which does not kills us will make us stronger.

I won't even go there with the God stuff but if this were true I'd be able to bench press a Buick.
